Counseling & Consulting Scope of Practice

I have provided over 25,000 hours of professional clinical services and received over 3,300 hours of clinical supervision and consultation.  I offer therapy with individuals, couples, families, and groups, helping persons with depression, anxiety, addictions, abuse and trauma recovery, anger management, identity and parenting issues, relationship conflicts and spiritual growth.  I have additional training and experience as an interim pastor, leading pastors’ case-consultation groups and consulting with congregations around trauma healing, conflict resolution and behavioral covenants.  My counseling and consulting are informed by several different theories which include pastoral theology, faith and moral development, family and congregational systems, psychodynamic, meridian energy, educational and solution-focused approaches.

Hi I’m Mark Larson

I have served the Charlotte area as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Supervisor since 1995 and a Certified Pastoral Counselor since 1993. My counseling office is in Dilworth United Methodist Church. Originally from Minneapolis Minnesota, I have been a North Carolinian since 1982. My wife is a hospital & chaplain educator and clergy, and we have 2 adult daughters.  For fun I enjoy backpacking, biking, and hiking.  I also enjoy music and band leading at church, area swing dance clubs, senior centers, breweries, special events and Tosco Music Parties.
